MTV has announced the lead cast for its forthcoming remake of The Inbetweeners.
Deadline reports that Bubba Lewis, Joey Pollari, Zack Pearlman and Mark L. Young will play the four awkward teenagers at the centre of the show.
Lewis has recently played guest roles in episodes of Numb3rs and Grey’s Anatomy, while Pollari made a guest appearance in a 2006 episode of Cold Case and recently starred in Disney television film Avalon High.
Pearlman previously starred in 2010 film comedy The Virginity Hit, produced by Will Ferrell and Anchorman director Adam McKay. Young played the recurring role of Franky in the third season of HBO’s Big Love and has also appeared in episodes of Dexter, Criminal Minds and CSI:NY.
Flight of the Conchords director Taika Waititi will helm the pilot, which has been adapted by Brad Copeland. Copeland will also executive produce, alongside Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, the creators of the UK original.
Production on the US Inbetweeners pilot is expected to begin on January 10 in Orlando.
